Great News: International Travel Resumes at Lockdown Level 1.

President Cyril Ramaphosa, last night announced that International Travel would resume from 1 October 2020.

This wonderful news was received with open arms by the Travel Industry. Many South Africans can go back to work and focus on injecting life into our economy and helping you plan your next holiday.

Lockdown Level 1 – Travel Conditions

To avoid a resurgence of Covid-19, the opening of borders will be based on certain restrictions:

  • Countries with high infection rates may be prevented from entering South Africa. A list of the countries that fall into the high-risk category would be published over the next few days.
  • Only Durban (King Shaka), Johannesburg (OR Tambo) and Cape Town International Airports will be open for international flights.
  • A few border posts will remain open at South Africa’s land borders.
  • International travellers will be required to present a COVID-19-free certificate, that is dated no later than 72 hours within their date of arrival.
  • Those who do not have a certificate will face a mandatory quarantine period at their own cost.
  • All travellers will be screened on arrival and those presenting with symptoms will be required to have a COVID test.
  • Travellers will be asked to download the COVID Alert South Africa mobile app to safely stay updated.

The fact that we now have a commencement date, gives the airlines, hotels, tour operators, and all other tourism businesses the ability to start planning, loading inventory and working on your holiday.

Most importantly it gives you hope and joy as together we can start planning your next trip to celebrate your life and create incredible memories.

We look forward to your call!
