Mauritius has announced the phased easing of travel restrictions according to the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority.

As of 01 October 2020, borders will be open to Mauritian nationals, residents, and tourists traveling to Mauritius for long stays.

Passengers will have to undergo a PCR test 5 days prior to travel.

Upon arrival in Mauritius, a 14-day quarantine will be mandatory at an establishment approved by the authorities.

A travel package will be made available for passengers to book online.

Mauritius Quarantine Travel Package includes:

  • Return airport/hotel transfers
  • 14 Nights Accommodation
  • Meals are on a full-board basis (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)
  • Health costs including a mandatory PCR test.

How to Make Your Accommodation Bookings

To facilitate the process, a centralised booking platform, linking to airline and hotel sites, is being set up on the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) website.

How to Make Your Flight Booking

  • Air Mauritius and Emirates Airlines are scheduling regular flights connecting Mauritius from designated destinations.
  • Flights may also be booked at the retail outlets, call centres, and airline websites.

What Safety Protocols Can You Expect?

The sanitary safety of travellers and of the Mauritian public is a topmost priority.

Protocols following international best practice will be in place:

  • onboard the aircraft,
  • at the airport,
  • for airport transfers,
  • at quarantine locations and
  • hotels and all other public places.
